Our work addresses people in all walks of life: those with physical or psychological limitations, people with therapeutic needs, older or lonely individuals, and all who wish to explore new forms of touch, relationship, and closeness.
We understand intimacy as a deeply fundamental human need. Our research examines how robots can provide guidance and relief in sensitive areas — not to replace human relationships, but to complement them.
How do emotional closeness, trust, and attachment to artificial beings develop? Which forms of intimacy feel strengthening or calming, and where must societal boundaries be clearly defined?
Can a robot convey closeness, reduce stress, or provide a sense of security? We examine tactile interaction using qualitative interviews, sensory tests, and physiological measurements.
